The Paradoxical Habit of Goal Obsession

The Paradoxical Habit of Goal Obsession

Goal obsession is Marshall Goldsmith’s 21st habit that keep’s us from the top in his book What Got You Here Won’t Get You there. In my interpretation of this habit, I see it as a paradox, whereas we need to be planning, setting goals, but not at the expense of the here and now. There are extremes to everything and there are those people who focus so much on goals and on reaching them that they forget about the tasks at hand, or worse the people around them, even the greater mission of the organization. Marshall sees this as the underlining habit for the other 20. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below once you have watched my vlog…..
