Creative Problem Solving – Step Five: Analyzing Possible Solutions

Welcome to this week’s video blog post and the 6th in my series on creative problem-solving.

At this point in the problem-solving process, you should have a long list of possible solutions. Now comes the hard — and important — part: deciding which ideas are actually worth pursuing. In this video, we’ll look at three tools for analyzing solutions: developing clear criteria, separating wants from needs, and using cost–benefit analysis. We’ll continue using our example of a company trying to improve declining customer satisfaction.
