Passing Judgement: When making assumptions gets you in trouble.

In his book “What Got You Here Won’t get You There”, Marshall Goldsmith lists the 3rd of his Twenty habits that keep you from the top as Passing Judgement, which he defines as “the need to rate others and impose our standards on them”. In my mind it is about making assumptions. We often make judgments because we have assumed something which may be correct or may be incorrect. We jump to conclusions and when we do what is the message, we, as leaders are sending our direct reports? In this week’s Vlog I explore what this means to me… what about you?
